British Airways Strike Action
Posted on March 12, 2010
STRIKE ACTION ANTICIPATED AT BRITISH AIRWAYS
Travel Resources received news today that an upcoming British Airways strike is due on March 20, 21, 22 and then again on March 27, 28, 29 and 30. We will be contacting our clients who may be affected by this action to provide them with assistance in securing alternate flight arrangements.
British Airways is currently operating normally and they intend to publish a flying schedule approximately five days in advance of the first strike date. British Airways has temporarily stopped selling seats on all flights operating on the strike dates.
In the event of a strike:
- Flights from London City (LCY) to and from New York (JFK) will operate as normal and any changes to bookings on these flights are subject to the original fare rules.
- All long haul flights to and from London Gatwick will continue to operate normally and any changes to bookings on these flights are subject to the original fare rules.
- For all other flights (LHR and short-haul LGW), until British Airways finalizes their flying schedule, passengers booked to travel March 19 –31, 2010, have the choice of rebooking or cancelling and obtaining a refund.
