SEAT SALES & GENERAL TRAVEL NEWS

Jetsgo started 2004 on a high by offering flights from Toronto for as low as $20.04 one way. Air Canada and WestJet have matched the sale, and an airfare war has started which should lower air travel costs in January.

The Air Canada sale:
- ends January 15th, for Canadian & International travel (travel now through April 2nd)
- ends January 16th, for travel to the U.S.A. (travel now through May 23rd)

The Jetsgo sale ends January 10th for travel from Toronto beginning January 13th

The WestJet sale runs until January 16th

GENERAL TRAVEL NEWS UPDATE

Air Canada Bonus Aeroplan Miles
Earn 5,000 bonus Aeroplan miles in executive First (J & C booking classes) and 2,500 bonus Aeroplan miles in Hospitality Service on AC’s new service from Toronto to Santiago & Buenos Aires. Offer valid to February 2, 2004.

Air Canada Boosting Services to Tropical Destinations
AC is increasing its service to many of its tropical destinations by more than 20%, offering customers an unprecedented choice of over 650 flights per week to sun destinations.

Pearson Parking
At Toronto’s new Terminal 1, there’s a new high-tech parking garage with digital signs identifying vacant parking spaces by row. And, instead of having to drag your luggage from the garage across an active roadway, there’ll be climate-controlled, covered bridges with moving sidewalks.

US Travel
If you are planning any travel to Washington, be aware that most travelers will see extra security measures. Make sure that you allow time to clear through any Immigration or Customs as the lines can be long and the security will not be waived.

Hitting the Links in Mexico
Mexico is reaching out to the golfing crowd. The country has 190 courses, with 20 more being built. A prime golfing destination is Los Cabos, which has courses designed by the likes of Robert Trent Jones and Jack Nicklaus. Among Los Cabos options is the course at the Cabo Del Sol Resort, which has been ranked among the world’s top courses.

Eurostar Speeds Up
Regular commercial service on the Eurostar train, using a recently-completed section of high-speed tracks in England, has reduced travel time between London and Paris to 2 hours 35 minutes and between London and Brussels to 2 hours 20 minutes, 20 minutes faster than previously.

Getting Around at Dallas-Ft. Worth
Travelers at Dallas-ft. Worth International Airport have long complained about the difficulty of getting around this sprawling facility, particularly when departing and return flights don’t use the same terminal. DFW’s new (and free) Terminal Link shuttle system, which replaces the AirTrain, will connect all of the airport’s terminals and parking lots on regular runs from 6am to midnight and will be available on an on-call basis during other hours. In 2005, DFW also will be adding a new internal people-mover system connecting its five existing terminals and the planned Terminal F.
